California Fitness Personal Fitness Trainer experience

One thing that stops me from achieving my desired body (aka Victoria Secret's model body) is the lack of discipline. I can't imagining myself exercising on a regular basis or cutting down on food just to keep and maintain the shape! Also, there are tons of exercise regime out there with different exercises suiting different people, it's really hard identify which exercise do I need to do in order to achieve that body.

I headed down to California Fitness a while back for a Personal Training experience. If you've haven't heard of California Fitness, they are acknowledged as the leading fitness centre chain in Asia. Their first club opened in Hong Kong in 1996 and pioneered the mega gym concept in the region. Till date, they have 16 fitness centers across Asia!

The outlet that I went to was ideally located in Orchard, Ngee Ann City. Which was perfect because I shopped there a lot and I could get a workout squeezed in right after shopping!
A Personal fitness training program is custom built with your own goals in mind. I really love that because it takes into consideration what's best for your body and what you want to achieve. Their trainers know exactly what it takes for you to achieve your desired goals in the fastest way by devising a balanced nutritional regimen up to a customized fitness training program to get you the results you want, whether it is to slim down, bulk up, de-stress or just improve your fitness level.
At the start, your height, weight and stats will be measured by the machine. It determines your fat percentage, muscle mass and also a rough guide of what you're lacking or need to cut down on.

For me, I need to gain 11.5kg of muscle mass and lose 2.4kg of fats!
My Personal Trainer (PT) explained to me that the reason for the huge amount of muscle mass might be due to the fact that I'm slightly underweight and the distribution of fats in my body is uneven.
He also suggested ways to improve my diet and surprisingly, it does not involve cutting down on the food I eat! The main thing is to eat food that you need, healthier food and drink plenty of water.
Afterwards, we discuss on the things I need to work on and how should I work on it plus, my fitness goals (which is core strengthening).

There are a few different work out routine such as the FIT Start program or the Private Personal Training Area that has Kick Fit program or TRX.
The Kick Fit program s a high intensity full-body workout that combines traditional boxing with Muay Thai that can burn up to 800 calories per hour!
However, since I don't exercise on a regular basis, my PT suggested to try TRX instead since it's gaining popularity among girls!
TRX uses heavy duty nylon webbings attached to wall brackets that utilizes your own body weight to build strength, balance, flexibility and core stability.

There are tons of things you can do with the TRX nylon webbings and my PT showed me some of the different ways to used it to strengthen different part of the body.

This is my favorite cause it strengthens the core area! It hurts like crazy but your core area will feel so good afterwards because of the aching haha

The class lasted for an hour and I had a good workout during that period of time! I really like how in-depth my PT explain about the different techniques to use the nylon webbings and how they can benefit me. Also, he takes into consideration my preferences and my exercise background to design an exercise regime for me that fits me best! Definitely enjoyed the session!
