La Roche Posay Uvidea XL BB cream review

It's no surprise that I'm a huge fan of BB cream. I rarely use foundation (unless my makeup is done by a MUA, where they always use foundation on me). I've tried all sorts of Asian BB cream but rarely venture into their western counterparts because I just feel that Asian products work better on my skin since I'm Asian.
So when I was given the La Roche Posay Uvidea XL BB cream (that's quite a mouthful!) to review, I was really excited mainly because my mum uses this BB cream and she loves it a lot! Now it's finally my turn to give it a try.

Claims: Unifies complexion by covering blemishes, fine lines, brown spots and hydrates skin. Helps prevent pigmentation and ageing induced by UV. Moisture replenishing. For sensitive skin. Melts into the natural skin tone for unified complexion and healthy-looking skin. Helps prevent hyperpigmentation and aging induced by UV rays, especially UVA rays. Skin is hydrated, comfortable and protected from UV-induced brown spots, fine lines and darkening.

La Roche Posay products are formulated for sensitive skin and I feel that the products under that brand are all affordable priced. I'm currently using another skincare product under this brand which I absolutely ADORE because it's sort of a holy grail product for me.
(Side note: If you girls have not tried the Effaclar Duo by La Roche Posay, I highly recommend you to do so. It has changed my skin so much and I'm so happy that I started using it last year! I will blog more about my favorite skincare products soon but for now, let's focus on the La Roche Posay BB cream!)

I was given the shade in 02. 02 blends well and evens out my skin tone. It looks really natural, as if I have no makeup on as it's more of a "second skin" color. It is also available in a darker shade in 01.
This BB cream is surprisingly easy to blend, it is super lightweight that I barely feel it on my skin and since it's formulated for sensitive skin, it most probably won't contain chemicals that will irritate the skin in the long run! For those that can't see the difference in the Before and After picture, it's not very visible on photographs but the difference is observable in real life. My dark eye circles have soften up and my skin feels more moisturized. It is non-drying and gives a light to medium coverage, depending on how much product you use. Usually a pea-size amount is enough for the entire face since the product spreads easily.
Furthermore, the La Roche Posay Uvidea XL BB cream also contains SPF50 and PA+++ ! With such a high sun protection, I would recommend using it as a daily basis as it can also double up as a sunscreen and morning moisturizer.
If you want more coverage from this product, you can also use it as a makeup base before applying your foundation or pressed power over it but personally, I would prefer not to cake my face with makeup since heavy makeup will clog our pores.

La Roche-Posay is currently having a Instagram contest with Samplestore whereby you just have to post a Before and After photo of you using the BB cream accompanied with the hashtags #LaRochePosay #UVIDEALXL #BBCREAM to win a La Roche-Posay hamper worth $100 (5 winners!)

Like always, you can try out the product before buying it at Samplestore.com. Get your free La Roche Posay BB cream sample on Samplestore here!
